Classes, Challenges and More

Well the first month of 2012 has almost been and gone.  I don't know how you feel but it just seems impossible to get everything done...... time is just going too fast.  With school about to go back it's time to get back into routine and hopefully find some extra time to scrap and be creative..... kid free..... ahhhhh.

The school holiday program was run last week and the feedback we  had was great.  Classes were taught by the lovely Ash Johnston..... who is Debbie's daughter.  With a keen interest in scrappiung herself Ash designed and taught all of the classes.  She has already started working on some classes that are to be run Thursdays after school and on Saturday mornings.  Stay tuned for a class timetable and details.

Here's a sneak peak of an up coming class by Ash..

CHALLENGE PACKS ARE BACK..........
Whilst the boss was away last week enjoying her time off Deb and myself enjoyed going through our papers and embellies and putting together some kits.  We actually thought that since the kids program ran so well we would put together some challenges for our junior scrappers.  Priced at $5 and with the opportunity to have your work displayed in the shop AND win the monthly prize.  Included in the junior prizes are vouchers to attend classes or holiday programs.  Very cool.  So get in to get your Challenge pack for February now.

CLASSES FOR TERM 1
Today we have had a nice long meeting..... with coffee of course..... to plan things for 2012 classes.

Card classes are due to resume in February - fortnightly on Thursday evenings.

Technique Tuesdays will be resuming too, which run for an hour on Tuesday mornings and is then repeated the next Tuesday evening - schedule to follow soon.

The sketch classes will begin on Thursday 16th February at 6.30.  Cost will be $15 plus products.  You can BYO products or purchase on the night.

We are starting a new monthly class that is going to focus on getting a double layout created for each month of the year.  What a fantastic way to get your album completed for the whole year.  I am using my album to record the milestones in each of my children and document the changes from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.  I'm sure the development and changes will be astounding this year.  The first class will be 1st March 6.30 - 8.30.  The cost will be $25 and will include:  2 patterned papers and 2 pieces of cardstock (of your choice), the month (January) pre-cut on the cricut, a journal spot and a selection of ribbons.  The first class will focus on a title page and January.  BYO embellies or purchase on the night.

SCRAPPIN OFF THE PAGE
Many people that come into the shop love our off the page displays but don't really know how to start them.  Firstly I would like to get a class going that is an 'ongoing' project.  As featured in the current issue of Scrapbook Creations (pgs 80-84) there is a gorgeous "inchie" board frame.  The project is designed by Jane Tregenza and each edition Jane will show us another section of the board.

Other projects we will be doing are mixed media and 'She Art' inspired pieces.  This class would be ideal for those of you who love to make home decor items as well as getting a headstart on presents for birthdays and christmas.

The first class will be on the 10th of March 12.30 to 2.30 and will be a Mixed Media canvas focussing on texture paste.  The display will be in-store soon.

YOUR FEEDBACK IS GREATLY APPRECIATED
