January Classes 2019

In January, Dot Leathbridge will repeat 2 of her favourite Art Journal classes from 2018.

 If you have wanted to try art journaling then these classes are for you. You will work in a  small group & Dot will have all the supplies you need (if you don't have them ).

 So grab your art apron & spend 2 hours with Dot & learn all about the wonderful world of Art Journaling. 

 We welcome all levels of crafters & even if you have done these pages before there is always something new to learn..

Our Art Journal Classes are held monthly and new classes will commence on February 1st & 2nd

"New Beginnings"art journal class by Dot Leathbridge

WHEN: Friday 25th January

TIME: 12.00 to 2.00

This Art Journal class will revisit   distress crayons by Tim Holtz, stamping and stencilling....the class will suit beginners thru to advanced.

You may bring your own art journal to work in, or buy one from the shop. We will be working on an 8x8 inch page and we will supply you with a loose page that you can add to your art journal at a later date.

What you will need to bring along:

all supplies are available to buy from the shop after the class if you  would like to continue your Art Journal journey.

‘Blackbird Sing’ art journal class by Dot Leathbridge 

         

Our focus in this class is on alcohol inks, quick and easy backgrounds and DIY tissue paper. This is a mixed media page that uses the products that we have become familiar with.

We will explore a fun way to use our alcohol inks, creating a beautiful, easy and fun background that will leave you wanting to do it again and again.

My Christmas Art Journal Page

This month we celebrate our year of journaling. We will be re-visiting

some of the fun techniques that we enjoyed playing with during the

year while adding some new ones like stamping with paint.

We will be journaling about what we are looking forward to with the

coming season, finishing the page after Christmas by recalling our

favourite memory of the day.

This page is for all ability levels, with suggestions on how to either

simplify or extend it for a more advanced level if you wish.

Daily December Christmas Album Class

Join me for an afternoon (or 2) to create a December Daily Christmas Mini Album using the Graphic 45 Christmas Magic collection. 

One of the inside pages plus mini booklet.

December  Daily Mini-albums  document the 25 days leading up to Christmas. In essence each page in your album allows you room to add photos and one story per day with plenty of room on December 25 for all your Christmas photos.

The Christmas Magic collection is beautiful to work with and when you create this 18 page album you will learn some of the tips and tricks about secret flaps,  creating mini booklets and magnetic closures,  plus you will construct a photo waterfall  on the last page.

You can keep this album as a keepsake or present it to someone special as a handmade treasure.

TIME: 12.30 to 3.30 for both sessions
COST: Class $20  Basic Kit $44.00  ( Full Kit $105 includes basic kit, ephemera cards and paper pads)

Extra Costs: These are not included in your basic kit. You will need a packet of ephemera cards ($9), a full pad of pattern & solids 12x12, ($25) a full collection pack Christmas Magic $30 ( or a 8x8 pad (18 plus a sticker sheet $6) to complete your album. Please let me know if you need these added to your class cost when you book you kits.

Shallow Art Canvas by Bipasha K

This will be BK's last mixed media project for this year  and what a creation it is. 

In this class you will be using a combination of Finnabair's Impasto and Rust

 Paste to create an "Under the sea - coral reef' colour-inspired wall art."

You will learn how to layers these colours with textured mediums to create 

aged effects in art pieces.

 

You can use it as a frame for a vintage photo or just as a stand-alone

 wall art treasure!

Kits are limited so you will need to book quickly to secure your spot. 

The class will take5 hours with a break in between, the cost of the class

 includes your class & kit, take note that there are some items that you will 

need to bring with you. 

BK is very flexible as it is your art design so you can alter the colours

 and layout of your own design.

"This Art Journal class is a fun play with Dylusions Paints to create colourful backgrounds. We will colour-in the incredibly quirky Dylusions Creative Diary Dy-Cuts and add them to our page. And to top it all off, we'll be making our own washi tape using Dylusions Journal Tape."

"This fun mixed media Art Journal class involves 'de-constructing' our art journal to create a double-page layout with decorative edges. We'll make an easy background using Dina Wakley paints with a brayer. Learn techniques on how to use tissue paper with textured backgrounds and repeat stamping.  As an added bonus we end up with secret pockets in our art journal where we can hide things".
