Art Journal Class : September 1st  ‘Blackbird Sing’ art journal page            by Dot Leathbridge Our focus in this class is on alcohol inks, quick and easy backgrounds and DIY tissue paper. This is a mixed media page that uses the products that we have become familiar with. We will explore a fun way to use our alcohol inks, creating a beautiful, easy and fun background that will leave you wanting to do it again and again. Carabelle Studio stamps are the highlight on this page as we use them not only for the main image but also to make our own tissue paper for the background. Flower Garden Art Journal Class The focus of the Friday class is using Dina Wakley paints, and Distress Oxides on a black background.  We experience how to use our paints in a more economical way to create amazing backgrounds quickly and easily.  It is a fun technique that really has that WOW factor.  Stencils are also used with a tone-on-tone technique which has a great effect that compliments the painty background beautifully.
